Tithes
What are Tithes: Tithes are a biblical practice of giving 10% of one’s income or resources to support religious institutions, such as churches, and their mission. The word "tithe" comes from an Old English term meaning "tenth.
God commanded Israelites to bring a tithe (10%) of their crops, livestock, and earnings to support the Levites (priests) and the temple (Leviticus 27:30, Numbers 18:21), Deuteronomy 14:22-29.
Jesus acknowledges tithing but emphasizes justice, mercy, and faith as more important (Matthew 23:23)
